What is dementia?This is a disease that encompasses several other diseases, and often shows itself in senior patients.
Definition: "a chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes caused by brain disease or injury and marked by memory disorders, personality changes, and impaired reasoning." Dementia occurs in the body when the brain begins to decay. In Alzheimer's disease, a specific form of dementia, the frontal, temporal and parietal lobes of the brain are the most effected. Thus, most of the symptoms to do with this disease involve memory loss, impaired judgement and difficulty with fine motor skills. |
What is AMMA?The Alzheimer's Memory Making App is an app set up to help dementia patients to strengthen their memories with a fun memory game based on their own past experiences. Caregivers can add images from their iPhotos app and save them into the app in their own personalized photo album. Is available for any iPad.
